Math: Summer Assignment (Moby Math Test Prep & Review)
All students are required to continue their study of Math over the summer by completing at least:
1 hour of Moby Test Prep & Review in June (6/11-6/30)
1 hour of Moby Test Prep & Review in July and
1 hour of Moby Test Prep & Review in August.
Please Note: Completing the entire 3 hours in either June, July or August does not fulfill this assignment as its purpose is to keep Math skills sharp over the summer.
Students should work in the Math Test Prep & Review tab practicing 5th-grade math skills to be ready for 6th grade in the fall. If you are working on a topic that is unfamiliar or you have forgotten, remember you can look at the Moby tutorial by clicking on the camera icon in the upper left of your Moby Test Prep problem screen. Do any work required in your math practice notebook so you have a record of the problems completed as I may want to review your practice in September.
You can monitor practice time by looking in the Time Summary icon or your achievement in the Progress icon, both of which are in the home screen Balloons tab. To view the time spent in Test Prep, click on the right arrow in the Time Summary screen, scrolling until you see the Test Prep Math column. You can also practice outside of the Test Prep & Review screen playing games or practicing in fact fluency or other tabs but keep in mind that these other areas do not count in the total time required.
For additional summer practice, students may also want to consider these websites: app.legendsoflearning.com; www.arcademicskillbuilders.com; www.coolmath.com; www.mathisfun.com; www.aaamath.com; and www.mathplayground.com or another math site you are familiar with.
If you have any questions, I do check my email periodically throughout the summer (lperona@sjvs.net). Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in September!
