"God's Loving Light Shines Through Us and Our Actions"
The Scrip Program is a school fundraiser to help defray the costs of operational expenses. Each school family, kindergarten through eighth grade, is required to purchase a minimum amount of scrip each school year. Scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers, such as grocery stores, restaurants, book stores, and home stores. Each store gives a different percentage to the school ranging from 2% to 20%. The participating scrip retailers have agreed to sell gift certificates to the school at a discount. Families buy the certificates for full face value from the school, redeem them for full face value, and the school keeps the difference as revenue. The beauty of scrip is that families put their regular household shopping dollars to work. Scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, and even dining out.
