My name is Mrs. Pamela Noto and I am one of the Pre-K 4 teachers. My entire career has been in Early Childhood Education and I truly love my job. This is my 22nd year teaching at St. John Vianney School. I have three grown children and I want you to know that when your children come into my class, they become "my kids". I will love them and care for them as though they were my own. I can assure you that our assistant, Mrs.Prokop, and I will do everything we can to keep your child safe and healthy when they are in our care, especially during these challenging times.
I look forward to having a great year full of fun and learning with your children.
Please feel free to email me or send a note in your child's folder with any questions or concerns.
In our Pre-K 4 class, we begin each day with prayers, flag, weather, and calendar activities. We review colors, shapes, letters, numbers, and counting. Through our lessons, activities, stories, songs, crafts, and play, children will learn various concepts and skills to help prepare them for kindergarten, while at the same time having fun with their classmates.
Throughout the year, children will learn to recognize and write both their first and last names; identify and write upper and lowercase letters; listen for letter sounds at the beginning of words; count by rote; and identify and write numbers 0-30. They will also do sorting, matching, and patterning. Various themes and topics are covered throughout the year and children will be exposed to a variety of both fiction and non-fiction materials.
Our school motto is: "God's loving light shines through us and our actions," and we infuse that message in all that we do throughout the day. Children are reminded that we are all God's children, all are beautiful and special, and we all need to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
