Second grade is an exciting year both spiritually and academically.
The children receive two sacraments,celebrate a special Mass with our eighth grade students and honor Mary with a beautiful May Crowning.We also perform a Christmas Pageant O'Holy Night.
  As a second grader the children continue to use the Wonders Reading Series where they develop and improve reading comprehension skills,build phonemic awareness,word recognition and reading fluency.Reading,Spelling,Writing,Phonics and Grammar are all the components of the Wonders Reading Series by McGraw Hill.
  In Math the children put on their math caps and learn addition and subtraction concepts,problem solving,place value,measurement,time and money.Through the Sadlier Math Program the second grade meets all state and diocesen standards. 
  Studies Weekly newspapers give the children the opportunity to learn and explore people who have made important contributions to our country.They also learn about individuals,events,and documents that represent the United States.
