Welcome to Art!  

My name is Ms. Holbrook and I am excited to continue exploring the world of art with the students of SJV!  In Art class, we will dive into the Elements and Principles of Art and art history.  While we are learning and practicing our craft, we will also work on developing something called the “Studio Habits of Mind.”  These skills, such as persistence, observation, reflection, will translate to all areas of our education.  It may look like we're just playing with paint, paper, and clay but we're developing habits that will stick with us for life!
 

As we all know, this year is going to look a little bit different for us.  I've set up an Art Google Classroom for each grade. 

Remote learners for all grades will find what they need to participate in class on Google Classroom (including Zoom links!).  

Grades 3-8 will be using Classroom regularly both in class and remotely, so it's important that all students are set up.  

We cannot share supplies this year, so each student has their very own art kit. On top of the supplied art kit, I do ask that everybody has a folder for Art class and grades 6-8 have a 9x12 sketchbook.  

The supplies we can use may be a little bit more limited this year, but we will still get to create beautiful art!
