Hello Readers! Thank you to everyone who supported our Follett eBook Fair. The money raised will be used to add new books to our libraries and our classrooms. I can't wait to hear about all the new stories you are reading. Please double check your backpacks and homes for overdue library books. Because books go into quarantine when returned, sometimes overdue books are overlooked and misplaced. I will be sending reminders to some students in Google Classroom. See you in class! Happy reading! Mrs. Damanti SJV is blessed to have 2 libraries in the main school, one for kindergarten through third grade and one for fourth through eighth grade. Students in K-3 attend class weekly where stories are shared by the librarian and books are checked out. Students in grades 4-8 attend during language arts class with the librarian providing supplement ELA lessons and helps students select exciting, age-appropriate books.
To be directly connected to the card catalog, go to https://saintjohnvianney.follettdestiny.com. Once at the site, click on "St. John Vianney School."At this point, you may browse the card catalog as a guest. As a reference, when viewing call numbers, all E and JF books are located in the upstairs library. F books are located in the downstairs library. Non-fiction books are in both libraries based on levels. We have many more books to be added into the card catalog, so if something appears to be missing, keep checking back each week to see if it has been added. Grades 3 - 8 have the option of logging in. Doing so will allow you to view if you have any books checked out and when they are due. You can also place a hold on a title you would like. To log in, once on the search menu, click the "Login" box located in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Username is the student's first initial and last name (no spaces); some students have modified usernames. The password is the same that the students use for Google in school. If you have trouble logging on, please send me an email at gdamanti@sjvs.net.
