Middle School Social Studies - American History
7th grade picks up where students left off in 5th grade.
Review of the Revolutionary War, Establishing a new government, Washington, Hamilton, Jefferson, War of 1812, Westward Expansion, Industrialization, and urbanization & immigration during the 1800s
8th grade picks up where students left off in 7th grade
(1820 - approximately the 1920s) Antebellum America, the Civil War, Reconstruction Era, Gilded Age, Spanish-American War, the Great War, The Great Migration, and the Roaring Twenties
Both 7th and 8th grade also discuss current events and citizenship throughout the year.
8th Grade Religion
8th graders continue their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which they receive in the spring. Students also learn and discuss what it means to be witnesses to their faith and make choices that reflect that they were made in the image and likeness of God.
